Now I might actually like him if he would just STFU!
He/she/it? was born yesterday.
I'm calling it Lunch, because it eventually will be for one lucky corgi. Morbid, I know.

"...peep..."

"peep..peep.peep"

"peep.peep.peep.peep.peep."

"PEEPEEPEEPEEPEEPEEPEEPEEPEEPEEP!"

nuff.

YOU'RE FEEDING IT TO A CORGI!?????????????????????

And you POSTED PICTURES OF ITS CUTENESS BEFOREHAND????

Are you TRYING to make me cry!!??!??? :yikes:

(Okay, really, I totally understand. I don't think I could have any animal from such a young, adorable age and be able to stay un-attached, though. They have to be less cute. I'm assuming you're doing this so it will be cheaper to feed them or so they can have 'organic' meat, though?)

Thanks Grammy :D

I'm keeping my distance from him/her because I don't want to become attached( though the incessant noise is definitely helping, lol). At the same time I know that having a full grown chicken as a house pet is not realistic. My mom's boyfriend brought him over tonight, something about he hatched late and wouldn't be able to catch up to the other chicks or something? He said he really isn't sure whether it's going to make it through the next couple days though, but if it does I think we'll feed it in about 2 weeks. My little sister's going to have a sh!t fit when the time comes. I'll probably just do it while she's at school and say he died, which technically wouldn't be a lie :p

I personally think that's horrible..not neccasarily that you are going to feed it to your dogs, but that you posted pictures of it.but I know everyone doesn't feel the same way I do. I have raised baby chicks before..and that one is very adorable. (Just like I feel the same way when people on the reptile forum I go on posts pictures of their feeder rodents. Why post pictures of your animals food? I find it sad).

I am sorry, i would rather see you break it's neck and feed it now then to see if it makes it for a couple days and then feed it,what in the world is the point of that. WHat a world it came into. :(SO SAd.

Well... you know - the hypocrisy of the human race eh?

Would you rather she fed her dogs battery farmed chicken so we can't see where it came from??

Really....

Give me a break

Guess I shouldn't post pictures of all the lambs or the baby pigs this spring because *GASP!* they're going to be killed too! ZOMG, the HORROR!
Cause all that meat in the grocery store just appeared on the shelves. Majik!

I personally think that's horrible..not neccasarily that you are going to feed it to your dogs, but that you posted pictures of it.
So you're saying pictures should not be taken of anything that is going to be killed? What's the reasoning behind that? I highly doubt the chick cares...

I am sorry, i would rather see you break it's neck and feed it now then to see if it makes it for a couple days and then feed it,what in the world is the point of that.
Why would I kill it now, it's not big enough... *rubs hands together greedily*

WHat a world it came into.
Wow, I really hope you're a vegetarian or you really need to wake up and smell the coffee. This little chick is living in the Taj Mahal of chickendom compared to most of the feeder chickens out there.

If I'd have known people were going to throw hissy-fits I wouldn't have even posted...

PDub, ignore them. They'll survive I'm sure.

People, get real here. People do kill stuff for food all the time. It's not a "what has the world come to" issue. It's the freakin' food chain. Get over yourselves.

Pdub, if it makes you feel any better, I slaughtered a whole bunny family because I shot the momma... the babies were big enough for food, but not small enough to be from momma.

Fed Kona for quite some time.

Maybe it's because I lived on a farm for a few years when I was younger, but I don't have a problem with distinguishing between pet and food. Or maybe I'm just a cold-hearted evil person :p ;)

Brilliant as usual, Diz.

Wait, you mean IT DOESN'T JUST APPEAR THERE SHRINK-WRAPPED? My world is ENDING. Sarcasm aside, I think it's fine for people to have the view that eating animal meat is okay as long as they don't have to think about the fact that it was once a real animal, although it's naive IMO. . . but then actually coming into her thread and bitching at her because she posted pictures and told you it was going to die? Good grief. I think I'm going to start posting pictures of adorable little ants and telling people I squished them right after the picture was taken. Although they might not be cute enough for that.

(Btw -- you know in my first post I was just kidding, right? )

I dunno, the shock might just kill 'em!

LOL, don't worry this conversation is tame compared to some of the ones I've had about the cruelty that is feeding raw, not to mention the cutesy wootsy squirrels in my freezer.

Dizzy, I completely missed your post, but it's too true!

Oh believe me, I've heard the same... as a matter of fact, my step-dad called me an idiot for giving my dog raw chicken. You know, since dogs can get Salmonella and die.
