Lab mixed with???

This is my new girl. She is about 3 years old and was an unclaimed stray. Obviously a Lab played a large part in her parental history, but what else do you see? She does not have an undercoat, is a great swimmer, very laid back, sniffs like a hound and she points. She is about 65 pounds and is lean - healthy lean. She is a velcro dog and catches on to things super fast. Its always a guessing game... Just not sure where the shading on her face would have come from, and she is a little finer boned than your normal Lab.

I had thought about golden too! I think her personality may be more like a golden. She doesnt get as worked up as the labs my family has had. She is extrememely gentle with small animals, just a love! I am so happy to have her.

Honestly, I'm having a hard time seeing anything but Lab. There are some things in your description of her that aren't common in your typical Lab, but I have know Labs with those traits. If you were interested in doing AKC performance events (obedience, agility, etc), I bet you could ILP her as a Lab real easy.

The color of her coat and nose, along with the middle pic, makes me think there may be some Viszla along with Lab.

Could be, but there is a shade of yellow that color called "fox red", and her nose and eye pigment would make her a "dudley".

She may be a purebred Labrador, or a Lab x Golden like was menchioned before. .

The eye set and smile screams Golden to me !!!

Me too ... and Goldens are my "heart" breed! Since she's an unclaimed stray, it's also possible she may be a bit older than the 3 yrs. old the shelter estimated. Looks like she's just starting to get the "white face" effect around her eyes ... never seen that happen at 3 yrs. old. Possibly closer to 5 or 6.

Defiintely a Golden personality!! Goldens typically get worked up while outside, but likely to be layabouts indoors ... but will follow you all over the house to see what you're doing of course. They are also affectionate (a love!) and typically very gentle and trustworthy around small animals.

She's beautiful whatever her mix, and sounds like a real sweetie.

She looks almost exactly like Lily, a golden/pointer mix I know. For the first year I knew her I thought she was a purebred lab. I was completely floored when they told me she was a mix, from an oops litter a friend had so the parents were known. Really similar temperament to what you are describing.

65 lbs is about the same size as Lily, is that a white chest spot I see in the pictures? Though they aren't correct, do purebred labs ever get white chest spots? Just curious.

Yes, it's pretty common in Labs. It's considered a mismark if it's bigger than a certain size though...

She does have a white chest. My vet is the one that guessed she was 2-3. Her teeth are very clean and have little wear to be older, but anythings possible. I will have to get a picture of her pointing, its rather intense! Thanks for the opinions! I am so happy to have her, she came at just the right time. I actually found her in a very rural area skin and bones, no collar, covered in fleas and trying to eat cardboard. There was no way I was leaving this baby out there! I put signs up all over, called animal control/shelters.... everything your supposed to do, but no luck in finding her original home. She found her forever home!!
