Em has coccidia, so for a few days it was smooshy poops and baths.. I finally gave up on giving her half-baths and gave her a full glamour treatment: whitening shampoo, thorough grooming, mango tango AND peppermint shampoo, plus a thorough blow-dry and fluffing. She looked FABULOUS yesterday - just amazing. So soft and yummy smelling, and perfectly groomed. She looked ready to star in a movie. She went to the vets' today and is getting her butt shaved (yay no more scissoring for me!) so I wont have too many issues until she gets better. She's on meds, so don't worry. Other than being a little bit out of it she's fine. The official report from the vets' office is that she is being unbelievably charming, as usual.

See how smooth her coat is?

Anyhow, no worries - she'll be fine and will get over the coccidia. She has a hairless little chicken butt now, though. It's so cute. But everything about Emma is cute, lol.... And I get to give her meds, woohoo! Not. At least she's easy to medicate. The hard part is keeping her AWAY from the other cats' litter boxes for the next week. Right now she has a bathroom to herself, so I guess when she's out I'll have to close all the litterboxes off and keep an eye on her. Sigh. Annoying cat. I have learned my lesson, though: no more allowing her to groom supposedly healthy kittens, no matter HOW cute it is.

She's just a moggie... I have some more educated opinions than mine that think she could have a smidgen of Maine Coon in her, but I kind of doubt it..? If she does have MC, it didn't pass on its genes well or wasn't an individual with very much type. She looked exactly like one as a kitten, but grew out of it. Not to mention her size, lack of ear tufts, no discernible ruff.. etc. It's still possible there's some in her, but it's kind of like having a ticked dog and assuming there's Dalmatian in her - maybe, but not likely.

I have to ask... what's the difference between a moggie and a tabby? I always thought tabby was the word for a cat of unknown origin, but I hear moggie a lot now too being used for pretty much the same thing.

Haha, I hope it's not a stupid question. I know nothing at all about cats.

I LMAO'ed at "GlamCat".

Emma really does look like she's ready for her close-up! She looks so soft and smooth and snugglable. : ) But, where are the pictures from the bath?! hehe

I hope she recovers from the Coccidia soon. Those darn kittens.

Actually her nose and her head are very much Maine Coon...

She's cute! And I love her colors! Makes me think of what would happen if my MC and calico cat had babies. ERgg... yeah. Sorry!

BWAHAHA. GlamCat.

You make me lol.

Emma is GAWJUS. I want to snuggle with her. I bet she is the best kitty to sleep with in the winter too. All that fur would definitely keep my neck warm! :D

We still want pictures of the rest of them though! Get on it! ;)

Not at all, plenty of people don't know. :) A tabby is a striped cat. It only technically refers to coat color. Emma is a tabby (a "classic" tabby - see her bull's eye pattern and rich swirls?).

I is sorry.. I TRIED! I really did! But my mom didn't hear me yelling for the camera, lol.

In those pics, slightly. But if you browse websites of well-bred MCs or go to a cat show you really learn to pick out the type, and she doesn't show it very well, lol.

Oh she is. If you can deal with the wet snuffles in your ear, occasional love bites, and nose goop sneezed on you.

With the title, I was expecting to see a kitty with lipstick, body glitter, and perhaps even some platform shoes! hahahahahaha

She is very pretty, glad she is feeling a little better and moving in the right direction :)

She's kind enough to let me do that to her, too, LMAO! BTW.. we DID see kitty eyshadow at the cat show. NO LIE. Eyeshadow. For cats. GLITTERY eyeshadow. :yikes:

I LOVE Emma! She is so freaking gorgeous! Great pictures. :D
(((((((HUGS)))))))

Coming from you, that means a lot. :D Thanks Caitlin! I am going to call you soon, so make sure to hide your phone somewhere and pretend you've lost it if you don't want to hear me run my mouth for a while. ;)
