Least expensive salmon oil?

What is the least expensive brand of salmon oil? The only one I could find was Grizzly, just wondering what our options are and whether there is a quality difference between the different brands. Thanks!

I buy a decent bottle of the capsules and feed them to mine. It works out pretty well for us. A bottle costs $15 or so and lasts over a month. Depends on how much I give them.

I purchased salmon oil from Woofy's for $18. but reading on this forum or another one someone mentioned buying from health store etc. as human grade would be monitored for its ingredients, where the oil for dogs could be suspect. Next one I'm buying will be the human grade.

I find them at Petsmart for no cheaper than $18, don't be afraid to spend a few more bucks on the oils though, different brands will have different qualities, and like always in the dog world you really do get what you pay for.

Boy that sounds pricey !! I get mine at Walgreens. Nature's Bounty . Omega-3 , Fish Oil 1000mg. 250 softgels and I know it's way under that !

Just wondering. I like the idea of having just a bottle of oil instead of in soft caps. Do they sell human grade oils that way? I should probably be feeding it to my family as well.

We have those, too. The difference is that yours is FISH oil and the expensive ones are salmon oil. I'd assume there's a quality difference, considering the price, but I wouldn't really know since I haven't tried the salmon oil, or if I have, I forgot. I give some fish oil to Tom every few days now and it has improved his coat so much - he looks and feels like a different cat.

Back in my day it was Cod Liver OiL . UGH!!! Would be interesting to know if fish oil is fish oil .

I buy the human grade stuff(I get it in oil form from the natural food store)... I'm not sure how much it costs(I hate shopping so I buy everything at once!)... I would guess that human grade would prob be cheaper though... most of the times things you give to you're dog are more expensive bc they can be! lol.

As long as it's fish body oil it's all good. Cod liver oil has too much vitamin a to be used regularly. Mine all say the kind of fish body oil that is used.

LOL! Nutri-cal has that in it, and that was what got me thinking about giving Tom oils for his coat, since I know he can't have it long-term due to the vitamin a, like Saje mentioned.

I just switched to Sea Pet Gold. To see whether you are getting your money's worth, note how much EPA+DHA you are getting per serving (note what a serving size is - not the same for every brand!). If you really want to crunch numbers then divide that up by what's in the bottle and what you are paying, and you can compare apples to apples that way.

Look for fish body oil of any kind, and guaranteed free of heavy metal contaminants. Usually that means fished in deep cold water.

Check for packaging that preserves the n-3s as much as possible. n-3s are sensitive to light and oxygen. Green or clear bottles are a waste of money.

The Sea Pet Gold gives me the best bang for my buck. Just 1/4 teaspoon provides a therapeutic level of n-3s for my each dog in my gang, except my chinese crested who just gets a drop.
