Barking

Any ideas how to make him stop barking on command? He does suffer from anxiety and his barking seems to be more of a nervous habit (with certain people in the household). When somebody is at the door it is different then when he barks at this certain person. The nervous barking is what I am trying to help. I have been trying a technique for a little while telling him quiet firmly but not harshly then rewarding him with a pet and telling him "good quiet". It does not seem to be working that well. Any other ideas?

I am having this same problem. I have tried lots of ways to train this out of her. I hope someone comes here and gives some good advice. My dog just barks and growls out the window. At everything , even me. Over the past year, I have tried many training tech.
Although my dog will growl and show her teeth, and bark when someone comes in the house, if she can sniff them normally she is fine after she sniffs them. She will bark at anyone if she knows them or not. I am at my wits end.
I wonder if she cant see very well?
