The most important dog training

Sure there are breeds suitable for protection work and to help one understand my point of view, he or she should encounter a couple of dangerous and real situations where an immediate dog's intervention was needed like the only way to stop the enemy.

Prior to that I was a Under Cover investigator , Bouncer, Wrestler and ive been shot- and stabbed. I worked with a protection trained GSD on the louding docks in Brooklyn.

Ive seen more violence in my day that any weekend of the Sopranos.
I traveled the NEW York Subways at 3 Am into Coney Island and when trains get stopped in the worse areas in the Bronx etc.

Does this equal a war zone? no it does not but it gives me more than enough to come up with my opinion.

Not to mention most who are killed in houses are not in bad areas they are in isolated areas NOT known for crime.

PS My PR 24 did more damage than my dogs did.

Pretty much what I was thinking. Or has an "attack dog" who would be hard pressed to run a mile, because of course, bigger is better.

There's also a WORLD of difference between your dog taking down a threat and your dog taking down an 8 year old. Does your dog know the difference? From your posts, I'm going to say no, because they've never been taught.

Do you live in a world of dark alleys, shadows lurking in every corner? Or do you live on a ship that is constantly harassed by pirates?

I don't wander around town with my dog looking for a fight. That would be incredibly DANGEROUS and IRRESPONSIBLE, like carrying a loaded weapon without the safety on. Teaching a dog to immediately attack everything that moves makes an incredibly stressful life for the dog. Imagine acute paranoia, which I think you may be familiar with.

I noticed you haven't said anything to the effect of "I train my dog to sit, stay, have a great recall, etc." It's all about attack, defense and protection. Have you failed at teaching the dog anything BUT being a huge liability to you and itself??

I feel bad for whatever dog you get your hands on.

Dan, I remember him. With Orion though, it sounded like he was taking his dog out and the dog was under control, not flipping out at everything that came near it. He just kept a pretty wide berth around him and everyone else.

That's right, it was all about how no one but he could handle a dog like this. The rest of our dogs were easy.

So why would you ask then?? If not to promote your ridiculous views on dog training?? Who in their right mind wants a dog that is so unstable and so poorly trained regardless of where they live?? It's nothing to be proud of and it certainly isn't something to promote.
I have had the absolute pleasure of knowing a extremely well trained PP dog, he was as kind, as he was capable of ripping out your throat. That's a Protection Dog.
