This is stemming from Laurlin's Rottie thread.

My list looks something like this, and probably in this order (note that I have no preference for big or small dogs, I love both)

Doberman (Again)
Pomeranian (Again)
Tibetan Spaniel (Again)
Rottie (First time)
Newfoundland (First time)
Westie (Again)
Airedale (Again
Lhasa Apso (Again)
AmStaff / Pitbull (Sort of again, have had a mix)
Cockerspaniel (English) (have had mix before)
Cavelier King Charles (OMG I love these, first time)
Beagle (Again)

I would put WHY but I'm watching a dog show and its back from the commercials!!
There are more, I'm sure, but as I don't have my breed books right in front of me (they are packed still as we have no book shelves!!! ) I couldn't possibly name them all. So, what are yours??

Mine would be a afghan hound or greyhound. My husband is fascinated with the Pharoah.

I would like a Lightfoot English Coonhound.

I'll also admit that Laurelin's pics have given me a yen for a Papillon, of all things.

And then there is my future brindle Fila.....

I've pretty much settled on a Border Collie as my next dog.

Beyond that, there are a small handful of breeds I'd like to own in the nebulous future:
Standard Poodle
Dobe (red female)
Greyhound
Frenchie
every once in awhile I get the itch for a Malinois

I'm sure there will be more pit bulls as well.

My next dog will likely be a border collie. We'll go from there for the rest. There are many, many breeds I like, but far fewer that I think would truly fit my lifestyle.

Well, since I am married, it had to be a joint decision. However my hubby really likes Boston Terriers. So I figure that at some point, I will be having a little bouncing "terrior" in my house along with the Boxers :)

DOBERMAN! Definitely red.
Rott

That's all the farther I've thought ahead...somewhere along the way, according to family and my husband, I'm supposed to have human kids!

Hmm. Here's my -hopeful- list. I know for sure my next dog will either be a Border Collie or Papillon...most likely another Border, then a Papillon. The rest are in no order.

Papillon
Border Collie/s
Australian Shepherd
Newfoundland
Golden

I'd love to try Disc Dog and Obedience trials someday....so who knows what dogs I'll end up with :p

Tollers (lots more of them!)
Dobermans (I want the next to be red, but I like them all)
Belgian Groenendael
Border Collie
Dalmatian (again)

That's all. There are plenty more I love, but the above are the only ones I can see myself living with. Oh, and I'd like to adopt some sort of mix someday too.

Aaron has relinquished his say in what breeds we get. He knows nothing about them, but every dog I've ever had he's liked. :)
He will tell me which dogs he thinks are neat looking and I'll tell him about them. He's the one who really wants the Newfie, so I guess that was his pick, but I do like them a lot. :)

Ooh exciting! I have a thing for herding dogs.

I really want a border collie or an aussie (or both eventually!) next.

I'd also like a rottie in the future as well as maybe another german shepherd.

Other breeds I'm really interested in are Tollers, Tervurens, and dobes but I'm not sure if I'll ever own one. Maybe just admire from afar.

I really love the sight hounds and have always wanted an Ibizan but they're really not suited for my lifestyle now. Maybe in the far future they will be. If not hopefully Romy will get an Ibizan so I can live vicariously through the pictures on Chaz. ;)

And of course more papillons.

ETA: I also get the itch for a bullmastiff every now and then but I don't think that one is very realistic for me...

Sort of in order

Ibizan :D
more borzois
American staghound
greyhound
Scottish deerhound
whippet
galgo
Irish wolfhound
Alapaha blue blood
Catahoula bull
Catahoula/sighthound mix, that would be one rockin' awesome lurcher for hunting anything and everything!
Some type of big scent hound dog, like a Plott, or a redbone, blue tick, etc.
Karelian bear dog or Laika
Akita

One of the coolest dogs, and one I would LOVE to own and work with are Taigans. But I seriously doubt that will ever happen. I don't think they exist at all in north america.

Probably for the next 7-8 years it will be sighthounds and only sighthounds.

So, in sort-of order:

Greyhounds (Track rescues only)
Borzoi (maybe)
Saluki (maybe)

Then, in the farther-off future I want a Doberman and a Bloodhound, definitely. The Bloodhound is probably the only dog I wont try to get as an adult, actually, I want her as a puppy. :D There are a few breeds on my "maybe" list, and I am SURE that there are hounds and mutts in my future. And a Papillion. Someday I will give in to my urge for a Papillion.

The only two I'm completely set on are:

NS Duck Toller
Bull Terrier

I think for sure I will own both of these breeds in the future. My husband is completely gaga over Newfoundlanders, but we travel a lot and live in different countries every few years so that will be one for later...since I can't even imagine the logistical nightmare of trying to transport a dog that size around the world. We'll need to make sure we're in one place before committing to that.
