With the exception of an hour layover and lunch with my dad in the Denver airport on my way back from Las Vegas back at the beginning of April, I haven't seen my parents since Christmas. I'm having a pissy-extraordinaire type of week and could just really use a good homecooked meal with them.

Awwwww! ((((HUGS))))

Sometimes it makes me feel double as grown-up...lol.... and sometimes it just sucks living so far away... can you take a trip home ober thanksgiving? I know it's still a little while away... but not thaaaat far (can you believe it's already July?!)

In the meantime... this is really nerdy, but there is this summerfest from the German- American Club.. I think it's $10 to get in and the food and beer is for free.. We were thinking of going, if you have time and need a cheer-up let me know :)

My parents live in shore Maryland and traffic could not be any worse to get to them.. I would love to spend more time with them. In their 70's, every day counts..

Jules, the link doesn't work for me? But I like the sound of it...when is it?

I was going to take a trip out to see them either next month or September, but gas really needs to STOP going up in order for that to happen. I might be going out with some friends next month, so it's possible I might get to see them then.

Well, that's good! I have a coupon book with some travel coupons in it... I can look though there and see if some might apply for a national flight if gas prices stay/go up?

Like I said it sounds super-nerdy... and I feel almost embarrassed to go there... lol. But then again, it might be fun to check out.

{{{{hugs}}}}}. I'm sure they miss you, too. Hope you're figuring out a way to visit them soon.

The one good thing about living with my parents is that I don't have to miss them

Jules, I've got the day free...I get paid for babysitting tonight so I can afford to gas up the car and can probably squeeze another $10 out of that.

The only issue with flying is what to do with the dogs then? Boarding them isn't feasible money-wise right now...if I drove they could go with me. I know my dad misses Sawyer and I want to show them the new stuff that Virgo has learned. Plus, they live pretty close to some good hiking.

Would those be the ones that Virgo was chewing on in that one pic? :rofl1:

On a serious note, I know how you feel. I live 400 miles away from my parents and haven't seen them since Christmas either. They haven't even met thier granddaughter yet!

Ah, I should be able to afford it. I've had two parties suddenly pop up in the last day, so my July has more to it than I thought when I wrote this this morning and then I've got a couple wanting parties for August. All will be well. :)

I was lucky with my parents . The kids and I went to Quebec every summer for a month, with Tom joining when he could . Then they came to Indiana twice a year .

I was just fine living on my own for a year with the parents back in KC before they moved... but then they followed me out here -.-

Not to mention mom always seems to never know anything about technology no matter how many times dad or I explain it.
