After watching the Greatest American Dog the other day on tv.. I thought it would be fun to have a Chaz Training Competition - or something like that.

For example - a trick will be picked for the dogs to preform. And at the end of the week we can post videos of the trick. Whoever wins can pick the task for the next week.

Anyone up for the challenge?

How about we start with easy enough things that can be taught in a week..... and once the game gets going then we let people pick tricks that are more advanced..

Good idea, though I think we've tried this before and it never goes as well as one would hope.

So who's gonna judge the videos?

And what about people like me who don't own a video camera?

I figured we'd do some sort of poll....

And I have no idea what to do for people who don't have a video camera. For those who don't would taking pics of the trick work?

and whatever trick we choose can't already be known by any of the tricks we choose or that would be cheating. I might do it with Phoebe but my video's quality will be awful.

Not sure... anyone want to be an impartial judge? And for those dog that know the trick... maybe have trick A and trick B - you have to do either one in that weeks time.. so that anyone who wants can participate.

Wait.. So if we teach our dog a trick, the judge decides if it's perfect enough..? Or how would that be judged? By completion? I'm not sure I understand how it would be 'judged' other than by completion.

Great idea! I like the idea of the poll too.

I didn't see the show the other night, wasn't too impressed watching the previews... Was it any good?

froo-froos?

Small fluffy paris hilton dogs? What?
Yea..the pick them up and carry them around and dress them in cutsie clothes type. The type that really do think their dogs are little kids in fur clothes.

We should also make some criteria to judge by, things like willingness to perform/ enthusiasm, completion of task, hesitation etc. and we also need to make sure we are all training up to the same level as in, do the dogs have to be at the point where they are off hand signal and on to only vocal command or does it not matter? Just some ideas.
