It used to be so tall, it could be tied over a horse's back...

And today, early on in the summer, it's taller than Dobermans!

I took the dogs to the patch of prairie a few blocks from my place. The prairiegrass has grown SO MUCH since last week! The dobes bound through the stuff, bounding extra high to see where they're going adn squinting so as to not get hit in the face with the stuff!

Ilsa squinting as she runs...

Ronin was realllly happy today...

Ronin chilling in the grass... thank gawd for RG oil, or I bet he'd have ticks all over him!

Ronin says, "Diz my prairie! Innit pretty?"

Can you see Ilsa?

They find some floodwater runoff...

Ilsa finds a patch of short grass...

Ronin bounds around...

Prairie butts!

Blurry, but still cute.

And my favorite photo of the outing:

BATHTIME followed.

Poor Ronin has sadness about baths...

Smooshy lips!

Ronin was cold after his bath, so.. he burrowed.

Ilsa says, "DON'T BOTHER ME! GO AWAY!"

Pretty Ronin.

THE END!

Fantastic! I love the photo of Ronin in the bed.

Your dogs get tons of baths!! For my guys, running through tall, wet grass=bath. :)

Yeo - if they get dirty, they get baths. I think it's the ex-professional groomer in me - I can't stand dogs that aren't squeaky clean. ;)

Oh... I'll keep mine away from you then! :D They're a bunch of dirt balls! One of Cricket's sisters is owned by a groomer. she always looks fantastic. Cricket is a rangy little ragamuffin!

These are gorgeous.
I'm a groomer, too, and YES, I believe its the groomer in us that makes our dogs squeaky clean... I bathe mine once a week (they don't even mind it any more). But it seems like they're always filthy any way. Brats.

LOL! Mine get bathed every 2-3 weeks in the winter, but in the summer... we're looking at baths once a week. Which is why I use really good shampoo!

And based on what I'm seeing from Ilsa's coat, this will be an "oil" year. Once in a blue moon she really bleaches in the sun, so my breeder taught me how to put her in oil. Sooooo tonight was her first oil treatment, and she looks better already! Takes a lot of rinsing to get it all out, but it was worth it!

I think I'm going to use the rest of the oil in MY hair though - who says it only has to be for Ilsa? ;)

Wow, i'm ashamed to say its been well (*well*) over a year since the last shampoo here (for the dogs, not me! :p )

Those are great - its fun to watch them leap and run through tall grass, eh?? :D

I completely Agree with RC. A Dobe WILL be my next dog. Aaron can get over it... he wants a pug. -_-
I use hot oil treatments in my hair bi-monthly. I don't know if you use warm oil or not, but if it does to Ilsa's coat what it does to my hair... YUM. :)

Yep - they're hot oil treatments! ;) She'll need one every week or so, to keep that darn sun damage in check! Last time she needed this was when she was 2 years old... now she's 6.5!
