If jazz is left intact I am going to have to seperate her and Wart. My plans are 1 is in a crate for a few hrs while the other is outside. Then switch them every few hrs. Crates on oposite floors of the house. Wart may be loose with me in the grooming room depending on the door while Jazz is outside. I know baby gates and the like are not going to stop him. I only have the 1 yard. Any other suggestions? I dont want doberhounds, coonmans or coonhound pinschers. He will be intact for showing

Takes some patience and lots of watching !!! Luckily my boys didn't bother my female in heat until she was " ripe " . I'd keep pants on her in the beginning so that she could still be part of the family ....

You are just going to have to be very very extra careful.

Always TWO barriers between an intact bitch and intact male.

If I leave here, I either take the males with me, or the bitch. Generally I take the bitch as I do not feel really comfortable leaving her home alone at any time she is in season.

Also get ready for the singing, scratching, digging, whining, and the male dog refusing to eat for the few days when she is in highest season.

It will not be that hard for you to keep one dog and one bitch apart.

Try my house. 1 exercise yard. No kennel runs. 1 elderly dog who can only run with the 1 of the other females at a time, as the puppies jostle her too much.

2 adult females who hate each other and cannot be together at any time.

2 9 mos old puppies who are VERY INTERESTED in the mom who is in season.

Oh yeah. Life's a party at MY house.

;)

Hey, I signed on for it. It actually has not been too bad, but she has only just started on the second week.

The first week I let the boyz run with her. Now we have 3 weeks of separation.

happy happy joy joy.

;) :D

Lol that must be fun Red. Do you find the boys fight being together knowing there is a female in heat? At least with Emma being spayed they dont have to be alone. as long as the get along.

Not so far. They love each other. They play rough and tumble but there are no serious grumbles at all.

I am keeping a close eye on it tho. If not this time, each season they are more mature, so it's something that bears watching.

Gods.

Kharma's in heat.

*sigh*

Bimmer's crazed, but at least he can stay at my mom's since she's nuts about him. When I was at the farm, well, life got interesting . . . and frenzied. Fortunately, he's so tuned to doing what I want that even when Charley got careless and accidentally had him coming in the door I was trying to go out with Kharma to take her for a potty walk, Bimmer would go back out the door for me. It wasn't easy for him, but he did it for me. Protesting loudly.

Heh. I can commiserate for once. First intact female here since eons ago, and she's flappin' and jiggling all over the place. Add to that one very determined intact male. Its been interesting. Lots of juggling. Lots of whining.

It's taken her forever to come in fully. She's always been like that. But it beats the hell out of coming in suddenly without warning!

I guess it figures though, she likes to milk it for all the drama she possibly can, lol.
