Ever since Lola had her spay surgery last wednesday... she's been EXTREMELY clingy to me. So bad that she is right there at my feet begging and pleading for me to pick her up. She will cry this high pitched cry like someone is ripping her limbs off. When she first started doing it I thought something was wrong with her incision. But it didn't take me long to realize it was her way of being vocal to get me to pick her up.

If I am in another room... she's at the door just crying and crying for me. I can't go anywhere without her right under my feet or in my lap. Right now I'm laying in my bed and she's snuggled right up against my back and the cat is snuggled at my feet.

Is this just a stage she's going through because she's afraid we'll leave her again? Will it pass or should I be doing something to remedy the situation??

You might see about getting some Bach's Rescue Remedy for her.

Don't coddle her too much or make too big a deal out of it - this isn't something you want to end up being a learned behavior! She's probably really unsettled right now - she's been at the vet's for an extended period of time, had surgery, and now you're packing up the house and moving. Her little world is kinda rocked right now.

Treating her normally will be the best reassurance you can give her.

Ditto what Renee said. Rescue Remedy will help a lot.

I've never heard of rescue remedy, what does it do? She's now decided she hates her kennel. She's been kennel trained since she was a pup and she started to like her kennel once she got used to it when she was just a baby. Now... we put her in there and before we're even out of sight she's yipping and hollering in there.

I was heading into the shower and TJ was off for a job interview and he put the dogs in their kennel and she began crying and yelping before he even made it out to the truck to leave. She must have cried the whole time I was in the shower. And it's been about an hour now since I've been out of the shower and she's STILL yipping and crying in there. I want to go let her out, but seems like her behavior gets worse when she knows if she cries I will come to her rescue.

They really need to be out of the way with us moving boxes and furniture out. We're planning on letting them out every couple of hours to play and stretch their legs and go potty..etc. But she just went in the kennel a little over an hour ago. I think I will leave her there a tad bit longer and see if she settles down at all.

Are you certain she is feeling ok? This doesn't sound normal to me. Did you take her back to the vet for a re-check?

She is physically fine... in fact, she's excellent. This is purely nothing more than a new behavior for her. She is 100% fine if I am holding her or letting her cuddle up next to me in my bed. She just doesn't want to leave my side for a second. I have to stand in the doorway just for her to go out and go pee and as soon as she's done relieving herself... she races back up to get near me. It was kind of cute and funny in the beginning to see her so attached to me... but now it's becoming a problem and frustrating me. It's almost like she's suddenly developed separation anxiety.
