I am totally recording this on Tivo, in case I miss it.

I signed a petition... like... YEARS ago, asking Oprah to do a puppy mill show. I'm glad she's finally doing it! People basically treat Oprah like a God, so hopefully the show will get through to some people. C:

i really don't like Oprah much...but she does so much good for the dog world i can't complain. I bet this really does have an effect on people, ESPECIALLY if she points out pet stores.

I don't watch Oprah, so I may be confused, but didn't Oprah BUY a couple of puppy mill or BYB puppies a few years ago? I think they were Goldens.

They were Cocker Spaniels. And yes, I'm pretty sure they were either Pet Store pups or poorly bred in any case...

(I see she has both.. I'd only heard about the Cocker Spaniels..)

She was a huge CM advocate, her cockers are from BYB, she got 3 BYB "white" retrievers while she still has a DA cocker, she's petrified of pit bulls...

her dogs are from BYB... however, lots of people on this board (myself included) have gotten dogs from BYB in the past before we knew better. Maybe she has learned about it now and wants to educate other people before they make the same mistake. If so, I think its a great idea.

Plus, she didnt do the investigative work, Lisa Ling did and she is a great advocate of alot of things.
