So this was taken at the sportsman show on the weekend in a quiet moment. If you notice at the beginning there is a pug on wheels in the top right corner (that was the pug rescue group) I watch this vid and I am struck by the fact I have gained ALL the weight I lost (all 60 pounds) back *cries. Ewww. So watch my dog not me :)

Wow. I'm working with Bamm on his heeling. He tends to heel for a few steps and then will dart in front again. He doesn't pull on the leash much, but still feels the need to walk ahead of me. Any advice on how I can work with him to keep him at a heel until I release him?

I'm very impressed with her focus! She's eyes on you the whole time! I think this is part of the problem Sierra and I are having. Her eyes (and NOSE!) is on the ground.

Great vid, thanks for sharing!

Guys, its not hard to teach a great heel. Time consuming yes-but not hard. And by time consuming I don't mean an hour 5 days a week (though I personally know a few traditional trainers who do spend that much time training a dog for obed) Dekka is 3 and I have been working on heel since she was 6 months. That heel took about 6 months to train, a couple min here, 30 seconds from the kitchen to the living room there, etc. Her heeling has gotten more robust over the last couple of years (meaning things don't distract her as much, she doesn't forget for a nano second what she is doing, and things like that)

And if you ship my your dogs, I won't send them back :p (esp Bamm... I love him!)

Dekka, not to sure how I missed this thread.
At anyrate, didn't watch the video b/c of being on dial up.....but then I don't need to, seen Dekka do her lovely heeling in real time.

You guys are awesome!

And if you ship my your dogs, I won't send them back
Is that a promise. *packages Frodo*

Don't worry, they'll get shipped back, and maybe an extra dog thrown in for good measure.
Hmmm, still considering...which dog will be sent back with them??
