A sticky is an important post or thread, if it is stickied it will always stay at the top of the page for easy access so it will be seen by everyone instead of moving down the page over time like most threads.

May I know what is a BSL?

BSL stands for Breed Specific Legislation which is a law in regards to one type or breed of dog and often comes in the form of banning the breed altogether. It can also be I believe laws saying some breeds must be muzzled, neutered or have a special license. They are there in an attempt to reduce dog bites but they do not work and end up punishing all the good dog owners and their dogs instead of just the irresponsible dog owners or aggressive/dangerous individual dogs.

Since I am a nuts and bolts kind of guy, I like to ask the hard questions. This may not be the way to phrase the question but it needs to be included in stopping BSL. If the AHJ (authority having jurisdiction, i.e., city, county, state) cannot enforce owner laws due to lack of funds, personnel, training, what makes them think they have the funds, personnel, and training to enforce BSL? It's money, time, and people.

Also, the way to fight dog crime is to fight criminals, not dogs. Put thugs in jail. Is it scarier to take on thugs than a dog? Sure. So, man up, grow a pair, and do the hard work. Take the breed away from the criminals. Put the criminals in jail. If someone wants to call it a war on crime, then treat it as war. Treat criminals as enemies of the state. Sounds a bit rash and harsh, doesn't it? So does eliminating a breed of dog. But the dog breed wouldn't have the problems it has without the failings of humans. In fact, the breed came about because of humans.

As citizens, we can become better at documenting the actions of criminals. Take pics and videos of thugs behaving as they do. You know, it's against the law to threaten people with a weapon. It's called attempted aggravated assault. So, prosecute thugs that want to appear dangerous with their dogs.
