Casper, Ronon and Joey- rescue
Rocky- kill shelter Jack- BFE- went picked up this dog that nobody wanted in the middle of no where before he went to the pound. Pongo- owner was going to drown him (already killed littermates) b/c he was a mutt. Mother was purebred JRT and got out while in heat. Best guess would be the American Eskimo down the street was his daddy. Friend rescued him and her boyfriend wouldn't let her keep him so I took him home and was going to find him a home. But that was over 15 yrs ago! Next dog- mostly will be rescues, but I do want a Dogo pup from a breeder.

Allie - rescue Ruby - rescue Rocket - show breeder in IL Next dog will be from the same breeder. Next dog after that will also be from a show breeder, but a different breed.

Upendi came from an oops litter that some distant family had.
Mina was from a litter of free puppies in the paper. Cara was from a working breeder. My next dog will hopefully be from a nice versatile line of aussies.

Kosmo/Nova/ Bravo- Local shelter
Zulu- off craigslist (I wish we hadnt but that was before I was more educated) Magdelyn/Goober/Alpha- No Kill shelter I worked at foster fails. Except Alpha I adopted him before I worked there. Our next dog will most likely be from breed specific rescues.

Buster - found him in a carpark
Quinn - bought from a hobby farm. Oops litter. Next dog will be from a breeder. Either a working bred BC or a Malinois. No rush though, atleast 2 years away.

Bodhi was an oops. A beautiful oops!
Fred was breeder. I never saw me getting a dog from a breeder, ever. But other half didn't want to rescue, so it was our compromise. Next dog, breeder or rescue. Whatever fits at the time.

Suzie: She was found wandering the streets a couple houses down, and jumped in the car as soon as my mom opened the door. We put up flyers, called shelters, vets...etc. But she got along with the old grumpy dog we had at the time, so she stayed with us
Jack: A humane society. Parents decided it was a good time to get another dog, so we went to this big ol' dog adoption event, and my brother and I picked out Jack. When I get a dog, which won't be for just about forever, it will probably be from a shelter or rescue, simply because I'm not that picky and I don't need to know the dogs ancestry or anything.

The way I see it, every life is a pile of good things and bad things. The good things don't always soften the bad things, but vice-versa, the bad things don't necessarily spoil the good things and make them unimportant.
