So here in Kansas it's typical March weather. Cold, windy, on and off miserably wet. So what do I do?

Go to Scotland.

Where it's cold, windy, on and off miserably wet as well.

But with an accent. :rofl1:

I fly out tomorrow, travel into the future to land on Thursday morning and will spend a week bopping around Glasgow and surrounding areas and come back next Thursday, hopefully still in one piece. I'm spending St. Paddy's Day at a bar in Glasgow watching Stiff Little Fingers (Scottish punk band) play, so there's a high probability I'll just go and get myself killed.

But with an accent.

I'm not taking my phone but I am taking my laptop and camera, so dinnae fash yerself, there will be plenty of pictures!

I can't believe you're not venturing below the border for a day!

Only 4 hours on the train :p

I wish I could but A) I'm not the one with the car and B)it sounds like our schedule is rather packed already. I'll see what I can do about that this summer though!

Awwww, lucky you! I have a dear internet friend who lives in Glascow, Scotland. We've been trying to figure out a way for me to get out there for three years now. I want to go so badly!

Have fun while you're there. Can't wait to see the pics.

Be prepared to be blown away - literally and metaphorically ;)

Scotland really is BEAUTIFUL.

I took this a couple of years ago:

Oh I can't wait!!!!!

And really, I doubt I'll much notice the wind...Kansas is so windy so much of the time it's just sort a routine part of life.

Make sure you visit North Kilttown. ;) It's from where Groundskeeper Willy hails.

LAYERS, while its chilly wet and miserable where you are not it will be MUCH colder in scotland! youll at the very least need a good waterproof coat and if your planning on venturing off the beaten path a deacent pair of waterproof boots...

you will LOVE it!
Scotland is breathtakingly pretty...
the grey skys actually make the grass look greener
i didnt spend neer enough time in scotland while i still lived in the UK...
one day ill go back though.

just dont talk soccer and you should be fine...
oh and the scottish accent is hard enough to understand...but never ask a drunk scot for directions, they simply stop making any kind of understadable words completly...
then again this goes for england and ireland as well lol

I'm more jealous that she is getting to see the SLF, than the fact that she is going to Scotland.. *Starts singing "Alternative Ulster"* And no, they aren't Scottish, they're from Northern Ireland, but that's just semantics..

Have a fab time, watch out for feral Haggis.. ;)
