Whats the whole point of registering with a kennel club or a certain organization?

I joined the Golden Retriever Kennel Club and was a member for about 30 years... I now only belong to our State Golden Club ...enjoy the once a month meetings and fun. Nothing's more fun than to see 40 or 50 goldens doing their thing !! Join your local club !! You'll learn, meet new friends ( girls! ) and have fun time with Peanut !

What about breeding? Dont clubs like AKC play a role in pedigrees or something?

AKC mostly holds competitions that tell which bitch is the best quality. That's pretty much the relationship AKC has with breeding I believe
