I'm hoping someone here will have advice on how to address Manni's night barking. It's making me crazy!
Basically Manni is usually very relaxed and spends most of the day lazing around the house. He occasionally barks during the day, but it's almost always because he hears a motorcycle (for some reason he HATES motorcycles) or another dog barking.
However, ever since we've got him, he usually lets out at least one loud bark in the middle of the night. Sometimes he literally is laying asleep and suddenly wakes up barking. Sometimes it seems like he's barking at sounds he hears from outside, but sometimes we don't hear anything at all.
It's obnoxious because he often wakes us up. I don't think his barking has anything to do with getting attention, so if he doesn't stop I usually get up and redirect his attention to get him to be quiet.
Last night he did like at least 5 times, and I have no idea what he was barking at, but he cost me at least an hour of sleep. He got all upset and started walking around growling with his tail in the air.
I really don't know how to address this. I'm worried that my landlord (who lives upstairs) is going to hear him.
Any suggestions?
