Poor Murphy... He was so ready to get away from the vet (even though the staff said he was an absolute sweetheart) and he's tired of being in crates... and cars. Still trying to figure out how to pee on trees without falling over. Wants to follow the other dogs when they take off to bark at things but can't quite do it. Life sucks for fluffy, uber-sensitive dogs... but at least he's home.

Anyone else have a dog who broke a foreleg? Murph is dragging his leg and the toe of the cast on the ground. I'm worried he's going to wear right through it. I don't know if he's dragging it because this is his first day with the cast or if he'll eventually get better at moving around...

Murphy's moving better today, starting to swing the whole cast/leg forward and rest the toe on the ground, so that's good, I think. He's seems happier, too, so I guess he's getting used to the thing. 5-1/2 weeks to go!

:( Poor guy. Glad to hear he's feeling better. I hope the healing time goes nice and quick and smoothly for both of you.

CAn you escort him with a towel around his mid body? Don't know if that would help or not when he needs to urinate. I am so sorry for him and wish the speediest of healing. Is no fun at all and time slows to a crawl. Give ear rubs from smkie please.

Pepper learned to hold her splint up in the air and hop on threes or slide it across tile, concrete, and linoleum floors. which really started to make the splint paper thin before it was over with. I hope Murphy gets use to it fast. Victor never did. He didnt' have a cast, but he has had his share of hurt and wraps for his wrist problem.
