I think waiting until you have the time and so forth to put into a new puppy like that would be worth it. I know it must be hard though.

As far as feeling guilty buying a purebred dog, I never have that feeling. It's an admirable thing to do to rescue and dog, no doubt about that. And it's right for some folks. But think of it this way...when you buy a purebred dog from a good, conscientious breeder, you ARE rescuing. Without good breeders and people to buy their dogs, think what would happen to all the selective breeding that took years to produce all these breeds. They'd all disappear and we'd have no specialized breeds that were designed to have specific traits. I think that would be a shame to lose our purebred dogs.
