Any Reason To Delay a Vasectomy?

My vet has agreed to vasectomize Gimmick (bonus to her for discussing my choice in a rational and nonjudgemental way). He just over a year old. Is there any reason not to do it soon? Other then the basic risks of surgery, it seems fairly straightforward

I can't think of any!

I might think if he was really young then it might be harder because of size but he's full grown so I don't know of any reason not to have it done.

So jealous, the vets I work with aren't open to any alternative procedures (the only one who is open to the idea doesn't feel comfortable trying, and she wouldn't be allowed to do it at this practice anyway) as it is, I have to go three and a half hours away to find someone to do Zeuterin. Annoying
