Before I got an Aussie, I've learned that Aussies or any breed with a strong working drive become destructive with not enough mental stimulation- but the Aussie I have (Lancer) luckily just becomes quiet and depressed when left alone... My MAS, though not an Aussie, is the same way. Lancer's super drive-y and intense on the field though. Not that they are deprived at all, but when we do leave home for longer periods of time, they just sleep and get sad. It's still sad, but I might've lucked out!

I have a friend who's bent on getting either a border collie or a papillon, though I know she won't have enough time for such an intelligent workaholic like the BC (for now). I'm curious what anyone's experiences were with border collie or other herding breeds' destructiveness when left alone for too many hours per day? I know sibes are notorious for destructiveness, but haven't heard too many accounts on shepherds.
