Minorities in dog art

Today, a friend of mine posted a list of art depicting girl's and their dogs. The art was lovely, but with one valid complaint: there are no paintings of brown girls and dogs. I spent a while looking for art of black people and dogs together, but found nothing. I even searched for art depicting Africans and their dogs, but all that came up were pictures of people with leashes hyenas :rollseyes:

There's a number of cultural and socio-economic reasons for this...I've actually done research on the relationships between minorities and dog ownership in the US...but now I'm just wondering if anyone can find ANY art...historical or even modern, but something other than clip art. I'd prefer American or European, but even African, Asian, Central/South American is fine. Any style, any medium, as long as it's a positive depiction of a relationship between any minority (especially black) and their dog!

I know we have other dog art nerds here, so hopefully someone can find something!!

Look up David Moore. I know there's at least one cute painting of a boy on a bike with his dog.

Normal Rockwell did this piece, which is interesting. The black children have a pet cat instead of the dog though.
