Hi all, new member here. I currently have two dogs of my own, Colt, an 8-year-old American Bulldog mix, and Wheezy, a 1-2 year old chihuahua/dachshundish mix. Colt was a foster failure, adopted about 6 weeks ago, shortly after my dog Don, who had a very similar look and temperament, passed away unexpectedly from hemangiosarcoma. I also have a new foster dog, Fiona, who I just picked up today from Austin Animal Center. I'm fostering her through Austin Pets Alive.

Well that's odd. I'm sure I did a preview last night before submitting, and all 3 pics were showing. And I didn't think that was the tag I used. Anyway, here's Fiona's pic. She might need to lose a little weight. Also, I forgot to mention how I got Wheezy - I found her playing in traffic last year, and could never locate her owner. After she recovered from the URI she had when I found her, and went into heat, I took her to the shelter. But she wasn't adjusting well, and she was heartworm+, which lowered her chances of adoption, so I went back for her.

Do all posts by new members have to go through moderation, or is it something in the content? I didn't see anything about it in the forum rules or forum info stickies.

Ok, looks like all of my posts are going to have to go through moderation, which means it's going to be impossible to be involved in any actual discussion, which means it's pointless. Lates, kiddies.

Hey Austin - welcome to the forum. It's true that new members are automatically moderated. This is a tool to deflect the enormous amount of spam received. Unfortunately the side effect is that it's frustrating for new folks when first starting out.

I've messaged the site admins to "promote" you to a regular community member, which should take you out of the auto-moderation status (which would happen automatically eventually). Stick around and bear with us.

Thanks!

Welcome to the site!

I hope you do stick around. Your pooches are adorable. Congrats on the new adoption and the new foster!
