How My Dog Made Me Laugh During One of “Those Talksâ€
I just wanted to post this funny story. I thought it might make someone smile. Maybe it won’t, but just in case it does, I wanted to share.
I have to get my dog's teeth professionally cleaned soon, but won't have the money for another month or two. In the meantime, I gave her some tooth cleaners sticks. You know, they're green and you see them almost everywhere. Well, I brought them home and gave her one, and she took it to her bed like it was a little prize and I thought, "Yay victory!" I felt all confident that she was doing great things for her teeth and went about my day.
Well, my ex and I were breaking up around this time, not the guy I owned dogs with several years back, but my most recent ex. He came over to get the rest of his stuff. I think he was kind of expecting me to try to stop him and every time he came around me it was like he was waiting for me to try and save the relationship. I had broken it off before because I always felt he was cheating on me, but I would go back on it because I had no proof.
Anyway, this time, I asked him and the girl I suspected him of cheating on me with to take a lie detector and they both refused and were acting all weird. So I decided that's all the proof I needed. Even if he didn’t cheat, if he had felt insecure for any reason, I would have taken the test for him and I want to be with somebody more like me. I was tired of his flirting and ogling women. It made me feel bad about myself, so whether he actually cheated or not, I was just done. He claims he wasn't doing that, but I always saw him doing it and one time he even said to me that if he was, he didn't think it was that big of a deal.
So anyway, I'm done with the guy and he's talking to me about nonsense. And I look over and on the floor is this pile of half eaten tooth cleaning sticks.
It was really so sweet that she had made the effort to pretend to like them and that she put on those adorable little shows of appreciation for me.
It was a joke sent from God to remind me of the two cutest, sweetest, little creatures in my life, my son and my dog. They are the ones that always make me smile and that are the most special to me. I love them so much. I just couldn’t care anymore about whatever else was going on.
